At present, the production of insulating glass generally adopts the bonding method. In the production of the bonding method, there are mainly two methods for drying the hollow glass space gas layer, one is aeration drying method, and the other is a desiccant drying method. Because the aeration drying method has the disadvantages of difficult quality control, cumbersome process, low production efficiency and short service life, the desiccant drying method has the advantages of simple production process, easy operation, long service life and the like, and thus is widely used.


Insulating glass insulation, sound insulation, anti-condensation, anti-frosting and other properties are caused by a sealed, non-flowing, dry gas layer between the two glass, and the degree of drying is determined by the performance of the desiccant, insulating glass The desiccant needs to meet the production process requirements. Therefore, the desiccant for insulating glass should have the following characteristics:

1) The desiccant used has a certain adsorption capacity, and the higher the adsorption amount, the better.

2) It can also adsorb water vapor at low pressure.

3) The water polar molecules are first adsorbed during adsorption, but it is preferable not to adsorb nitrogen and oxygen.

4) The adsorption capacity is less affected by temperature and humidity.

5) The pre-adsorption amount is low, and the adsorption rate is slow.

The desiccant whose energy base satisfies the above conditions is a molecular sieve desiccant and a silica gel desiccant.
